When passed as the dwMessage argument to the Shell_NotifyIcon function, the constant NIM_SETVERSION tells the function whether to use old or new behaviour for an icon on the taskbar notification area. The icon is described by a NOTIFYICONDATA structure whose address is passed as the function’s other argument.
