The required argument consists of whatever follows immediately within the same command-line token, else is the whole of the next command-line token if this token does not begin with a hyphen or forward slash.
The argument is formally numeric. The notation with a base prefix is allowed. The value is unconstrained.
This option passes to the back-end compiler (C2) only, as -H number.
The /nl option behaves identically to /H except for having no syntactic relations with other options. In particular, CL.EXE does not reject the combination of /nl and /GL as being incompatible.
